Secret Sauce is Carondelet's most requested high-out bridge humbucker. Notable Carondelet Secret Sauce users and fans include Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel); Bruce Kulick (Kiss, Grand Funk Railroad, Union); Russ "Satchel" Parrish (Steel Panther, Fight); and Art Alexakis (Everclear).
Secret Sauce owes its origin to Jeff surfing the web for pickup-related stuff a few years ago, He came across what was alleged to be three key blueprint specs unique to one of the first humbuckers hand-wound by Seymour Duncan for Edward Van Halen.
Specifically, the pickup EVH was using in his "Frankie" guitar in the spring of 1981, around the time Van Halen's Fair Warning album was recorded. Three specs are not enough to replicate any humbucker, but Jeff used the alleged attributes as the framework for his "Secret Sauce" pickup.
The Carondelet Secret Sauce can be described as both EVH-inspired and as the signature tones of not only Pasadena but also the Sunset Strip and anywhere else 80s rock, metal and thrash reigned supreme. Secret Sauce is hot yet super musical, with incredible touch and volume knob sensitivity, string-to-string balance and rich harmonic content.
For a neck compliment, we recommend the Carondelet Modern 5.

DELIVERY TIMES: Carondelet pickups are wound and assembled by hand, one at a time. Due to speed limitations in the hand-crafted process and overall demand, lead times for Carondelet pickups typically range from four to six weeks.
